Cabela's To Open Cherokee Store in August
Cabela's location in the Cherokee Village development along Highway 92 near Interstate 75 will open on Aug. 21.
A sporting goods store under construction in southwest Cherokee County plans to open its doors to the public next month.
Cabela's will open at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The store will have a grand opening celebration at 10:45 a.m.
Cabela's announced last year plans to build a 100,000-square-foot facility in the Cherokee Village Square development. The new store is expected create roughly 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees, most of which are slated to come from Acworth and surrounding cities.

Cabela's sells sporting, hunting, fishing and other items for outdoor activities.
The store, located on the northeast corner of Interstate 75 and Highway 92, is being constructed in what the company calls its "next-generation layout, designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience with museum-quality wildlife displays."

Along with outdoor products, the store will include a replica of a large mountain, a gun library, bargain cave, boat shop, indoor archery range, deli and fudge shop.
