City Of Woodstock Earns Financial Excellence Award

The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The Government Finance Officers Association awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Woodstock for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year, which ended June 30.

The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

“This is the 29th year that the City of Woodstock has received the Certificate of Achievement (COA) for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award,” City of Woodstock Chief Financial Officer Ron Shelby said in a news release. “It represents a team effort and a lot of hard work between the City’s Finance Department, and its outside auditors, throughout the year. Our ultimate goal is always to provide the highest levels of financial accuracy, transparency and accountability to our citizens.”

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the City of Woodstock management and employees.
