Entering Auto Suspects Led Police On Chase In Stolen Truck: Cops
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is looking for two men accused of stealing from vehicles in the Woodstock area.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office are looking for two men identified as persons of interest in several reports of entering autos that occurred during the early hours of Monday, Sept. 10 in the Towne Lake Parkway area of Woodstock.
The pair is accused of committing thefts from vehicles within the city limits of Woodstock and driving a Mazda 6 to Towne Lake Hills West where they abandoned the vehicle. CSO notes that Mazda was allegedly stolen Sept. 9 from an apartment complex in Athens, Tennessee.
After dumping the Mazda, they allegedly stole another vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, around 5:30 a.m. Monday from a home on Iron Hill Trace in the Towne Lake Hills West community. Following the theft of the truck, CSO spokesperson Jay Baker said the suspects led police on a chase that ended in Bartow County.

That pursuit forced deputies to chase the truck on Bells Ferry Road, Eagle Drive, Kellogg Creek Road, Victory Drive (where speed exceeded 70 miles per hour), Woodstock Road (where the truck reached speeds of 80 miles per hour) and Highway 92, according to an incident report released by the sheriff's office.

The truck eventually entered Interstate 75 northbound from Highway 92, and sheriff's deputies ended the pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle. However, sheriff's deputies in Bartow County and Emerson police officers were able to locate the abandoned pickup truck on Komatsu Drive SE in Cartersville, which is located off Main Street just east of the interstate.
Both suspects fled on foot, and are at large at this time. Surveillance footage did capture both men on camera at Walmart near the apartment complex in Athens, Tennessee, and CSO is sharing a still image from the footage with the hopes that someone recognizes the men.
Baker said most of the stolen property was recovered. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Taylor with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 770-928-0239.
