- Today is the last show in the Brown Bag Concert Series, closing out with Serpent & Dove at noon. Take your lunch at the Gazebo in Park at City Center, the hour-long performance is a refreshing way to spend some time. Enjoy today's live music, the sunshine and the calm and quiet before the kids are home for the summer. The park is located at 101 Arnold Mill Road, adjoining the Amphitheater. - There is an Alzheimer's Association community forum at 10:30 a.m. today at the Woodstock Library, with discussions covering the disease itself, brain health and the resources available to local residents. You can share your own experience with Alzheimer's and dementia, give input on how the organization can help our residents and hear from other organizations that offer senior services and resources to our county. Registration for the free informational session is here, and the library's address is 7735 Main St. The Alzheimer's Association can be reached at 800-272-3900, they have specialists and clinicians ready to provide information and confidential support 24/7. - The county has announced that the intersection at Union Hill Road South and Lower Union Hill Road will be closed from May 30 - July 31 for construction. As part of this project, Union Hill Road North to Lower Union Hill Road will be open with flaggers moving traffic and Old Jones Road will stay open. There will be posted detours through Arbor Hill Road, Gaddis Road and East Cherokee Drive. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Cherokee County Roadway Capital Program at 678-493-6077. - The Woodstock police and fire departments are accepting applications for the Summer 2023 Teen Public Safety Academy. The academy is for ages 14-19, and participants will attend the week-long session from June 19-23 at the police department and other locations in the county. Classes will include criminal investigation procedures, patrol operations, mental health, fire safety and several others geared to help teens gain a better understanding of the police and fire professions. - Three men tried to break into a home on Buckline Court on Tuesday evening and one was killed in the attempt. When the Woodstock PD responded to the call around 8:30 p.m., they found one suspect shot and deceased and one suspect shot but only injured. The injured suspect is in custody facing charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and murder. It is believed at this time that the two residents fired in self-defense, and no mention of possible charges has been made. (11 Alive)

- It's graduation day... every day through Saturday. Traffic on all sides of First Baptist will be much heavier than usual during portions of the afternoon and evening today. There are activities taking place at the church before and after each of the ceremonies, so the slowdown may start more than an hour prior to each. Congratulations to the graduating students from i-Grad Virtual Academy, River Ridge High School and Cherokee High School — those ceremonies will start at 2, 4 and 8 p.m. today, respectively. - Reformation Brewery is releasing the new "Liberty Lager" today. Another delicious seasonal brew to enjoy at Reformation or at home. And as great bonus, $1 from every pint and 6-pack purchase will go to the organization Shepherd's Men ATL. The brewery is located at 105 Elm St., they're open from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. today. - The phones will not be operational over at Cherokee Recreation & Parks after 6 p.m. this evening. The phone lines at The WREC, the Aquatic Center and The Buzz will be affected, but they will be back to normal tomorrow morning. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks)
