Here are the top five stories today in Woodstock-Towne Lake:

  1. Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) has started their annual fire hydrant inspections and maintenance around the county. As the work is done, sediment in the water may cause discoloration. If it does happen, it should be brief and does not pose a risk to us. If you do notice discoloration, run your cold water for a bit. If this doesn't fix it within 10 minutes, please reach out to your water provider for further help. Work will also include the upkeep or creation of a three-foot clearance area around fire hydrants to ensure they are accessible and visible year round. If you have any questions about the ongoing inspections and maintenance, please contact the County Fire Marshal at 678-493-6290. (CCFES via Facebook)
  2. There's a new offering out of Woodstock Parks and Recreation for the month of May. Big Stage Yoga is an evening class for all levels, meeting every Tuesday and Thursday, starting on May 2. Participants must be 16 or older, but those younger can attend with an adult present. The class will be held on the stage at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater, and you sign up for the whole month at once for a nice price. If you'd like to sign up, you can do so here.
