Update: Driver Who Went Through House ID'd

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Shane Rainwater of Acworth is the man who drove his car through a house Monday afternoon, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office announced.

Rainwater's injuries, although critical, were not life-threatening, Lt. Jay Baker said in a news release.

The investigation remains under investigation, but nothing at the scene indicated Rainwater was impaired.

A 36-year-old man drove a Honda through a split-level house on Cedar Mill Crossing, near Kellogg Creek Road, around 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Cherokee County firefighters found that the car had gone through the garage door and exited through the wall on the opposite side, according to a press release.

The driver of the car had multiple lacerations and abrasions, a possible broken or dislocated hip resulting in internal bleeding, and altered levels of consciousness, the release said.

He was taken to in stable but critical condition.

The home is roped off because of structural damage.
