The man accused in a series of church vandalism in Cobb County has been charged by Woodstock police for an incident reported in May.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Woodstock police have charged a man accused in a series of Cobb County church vandalism incidents in connection to a similar case reported at a building in its jurisdiction.
Clint Benjamin Vance, 32, was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Wednesday, Sept. 12 on one count of vandalism to a place of worship, those jail records show. The Kennesaw resident was previously held at the Cobb County jail before was turned over to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office for booking.
Vance was arrested and charged in July by Cobb County police with three counts of vandalism to a place of worship, Cobb police spokeswoman Officer Sarah O'Hara previously told Patch. Woodstock Police Chief Calvin Moss said his detectives were able to confirm that Vance was behind the vandalism reported at His Hands Church in May.

Woodstock officers were dispatched around 8:30 a.m. May 4 to a call at the church, which is located off Highway 92 near the Target shopping center. According to an incident report released by the Woodstock Police Department, an officer arrived and saw writing on the front doors of the church.
"I saw that the main front doors had what appeared to be red spray paint stating the words 'F--- God' several times," the report adds. "Also, there were the words 'God Failed Me'."

Cobb police say Vance, who they believed was working alone, vandalized multiple locations with red spray paint between April 29 and July 1. The locations that were targeted include Noonday Baptist Church in Marietta and the Church of Christ at North Cobb in Kennesaw.
A private residence also was added to the list of places police believe the man targeted. The Church of Christ was vandalized three separate times with "Satanic phrases and offensive language," police said in a news release. In addition to "vulgar and Satanic phrases," the man painted "what can best be described as sacrilegious symbols to include crosses with circles around them and lines striking through them," Cobb police added.
Vance is in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $2,812.50 bond.
