No Change in Cherokee Unemployment
In metro Atlanta, the preliminary jobless rate increased to 10.4 percent in August.

For the second consecutive month, the percentage of the county's unemployed did not change.
According to preliminary figures from the Georgia Department of Labor, 9,397 people were in the unemployment line in August, which represented 8.7 percent of Cherokee's labor force.
In July, the number of unemployed Cherokee residents stood at 9,402.

As a region, metro Atlanta's unemployment rate rose from 10.3 percent in July to 10.4 percent in August.
"The rate increased because there were more layoffs in construction, trade, administrative and support services, and accommodation and food services," State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in a news release.
