October Events Benefit Elm Street

Here is the information you need to know Monday, Oct. 10.

1. It's going to be chilly for Columbus Day with a high of 69 degrees and a low of 61, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 50 percent chance of showers throughout the day with the remainder of the afternoon being cloudy with gusts of wind as high as 20 mph.

2. The kicked off a month-long drive of events to benefit the Arts Center and improve their property at the Historic Reeves House. The second annual Scarecrow Parade began this weekend and will run throughout this month with festive scarecrows on display in downtown. Other events include the Taste of Woodstock on Oct. 21, Ghost Tales & Trails during the last two weekends in October and the KidsFest Trick or Treat on Halloween.

3. The  club football team maintained its perfect record with a 26-10 road win over the Birmingham Southern College junior varsity team on Sunday. Chattahoochee Tech, 5-0 and ranked No. 1 in the National Club Football Association coaches poll. For a full game report from Chatt Tech's Alex Ewalt, check back at 8 a.m.
