Restaurant Inspections: Ice Cream Stored With Raw Meat

The Cherokee County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections Aug. 22-29 at the following establishments:

View inspections: August 27, 2018 Score: 81, Grade: B
- Observed improper separation of raw from ready to eat foods. Ice cream and cooked vegetables stored with raw meat. Raw meat not separated based on cooking temperature. Corrected onsite by rearranging the foods based on the final cook temperature.
- Observed the inside of the machine dirty. Must clean and sanitize by the end of the day.
- Observed food being thawed at room temperature in the food preparation sink. Must thaw either in the walk in cooler or reach in cooler, as a part of the cooking process, in the microwave or under running tap water. Corrected onsite by thawing under running tap water.
- Must clean the doors and gaskets of the coolers and floors in the storage area.

- Food found stored past disposal date marked. Corrected onsite by discarding the food.
- Observed raw eggs being used for making over easy eggs for the residents. Advised them to use pasteurized eggs. Raw eggs if used must be cooked until completely done.
- Must provide thermometers for reach in cooler and reach in freezer.
- Must thoroughly clean the kitchen - floors, walls, above the equipment, vents in the walk in cooler.
