  1. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is searching for a group of teens seen driving recklessly on June 29 near Acworth on Applewood Court. When approached by concerned residents asking them to stop, the teens fired an airsoft or BB gun at the residents, injuring one. Still shots of the suspect vehicle were released on Monday, a grey Nissan sedan with a bicycle rack attached, and the sheriff's office is asking that anyone with information reach out to the department.   2. The Cherokee County Health Department is offering back-to-school health clinics in Canton (1219 Univeter Road) and Woodstock (7545 North Main Street) on July 19, July 26 and August 2. The clinics will provide health screenings at $60 and immunizations at $21.90 each for underinsured and uninsured school-aged children in the county. The health clinics also accept insurance.   3. State Representative Charlice Byrd presented a resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives to Cherokee County's E 9-1-1 Center for the agency's service to the community. The center dispatches calls for all public safety agencies in Cherokee County. (Cherokee County press release)
  4. Businesses in Georgia are reminded to apply for working capital loans before the deadline on August 5. The disaster loan program is intended for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations affected by severe flooding that occurred on September 7-8, 2021.   5. Janet Baggett of Creekview High School has been named a 2022 School Teacher of the Year. Janet has been an educator for 21 years and will be joining Etowah High School this coming year as an assistant principal. (Patch)
