Coffee with a Cop is intended to promote informal discussions between officers and the citizens they serve. In 2016, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services in the United States Department of Justice established the first Wednesday in October as National Coffee with a Cop Day. Since its inception, this simple yet effective method of bringing police and communities together has been met with broad acceptance nationwide.

Woodstock officers will be on hand to mix and mingle from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at Starbucks.
