Woodstock Police Receives AAA Traffic Safety Grant

Woodstock Police Department applied for the AAA Traffic Safety Grant for the purchase of two radar signs.

From the City of Woodstock: As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting traffic safety on the City’s roadways, Woodstock Police Department applied for the AAA Traffic Safety Grant for the purchase of two radar signs. And, in February, Woodstock Police officials received notification that the department was selected as the recipient of the grant.

The radar signs will be helpful in reducing speed in problem areas. Woodstock police officials routinely monitor traffic statistics and traffic patterns within the City and deploy resources to areas of concern as necessary. These radar signs are another resource to deter speeding and ensure motorist compliance with posted speed limits.

“I am appreciative of AAA South for providing funding assistance for the acquisition of Radar Speed Signs through which we can jointly help improve roadway safety,” says Calvin W. Moss, Chief of Police.
