• County of Kauai, DCCAA launch Kauai Hi-Wifi Starlink Program (thegardenisland.com subscription) — New free Starlink Wi-Fi hotspots are coming to key Lihue locations, including Isenberg Park and, once construction finishes, Vidinha Stadium, expanding reliable internet access for residents and emergency responders. The county’s new Kauai Hi-Wifi Starlink Program targets remote and underserved areas islandwide, aiming to boost safety, equity, and communication during both everyday use and emergencies.
   

• CHRISTMAS FUND: Recently houseless family would love a tree (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Local families in need on Kauai are seeking a little extra help this Christmas, and donations to the Zonta Club’s Christmas Fund are being accepted by mail at their Lihue P.O. Box. Contributions go directly toward gift certificates for presents, food, and basic household items for seniors, parents, and children facing tight budgets or recent homelessness.
