'The biggest mural in Idaho': Meet the artist behind the massive new mural coming to BOI (kivitv.com) — A huge new mural celebrating Boise’s history and future of flight is coming to the Boise Airport’s new rental car facility, timed with the airport’s 100th anniversary on April 6, 2026. Designed by Boise artist Chad Otis and selected from 57 submissions, the piece will feature landmarks like the Capitol, the Depot, and both old and new airport imagery, and remain on display for three to five years.

Idaho Supreme Court schedules arguments on private education tax credit (ktvb.com) — Boise residents should know the Idaho Supreme Court, meeting in Boise, has set Jan. 23 arguments over the state’s new private education tax credit program. Justices will hear a challenge from educators and advocacy groups who say the “Parental Choice Tax Credit” violates Idaho’s constitutional requirement to maintain a uniform, taxpayer-funded public school system.
   

3. Ex-inmate turns prison dog program into career helping rescue animals (kivitv.com) — A former inmate is now managing Boise Bully Breed Rescue, training local shelter dogs and helping them find homes after learning those skills in a prison PAWS program. Based in the Treasure Valley, he now mentors incarcerated participants, runs his own dog-training business, and shows how Boise’s rescue community can create second chances for both people and pets.

Idaho's $1,000,000 Raffle winning numbers announced (ktvb.com) — If you bought an Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle ticket, now’s the time to check it—any prize of $1,000 or more must be claimed at the Idaho Lottery offices in Boise within 180 days. Two tickets won $1 million each, with additional $100,000, $50,000, and multiple $1,000 prizes still unclaimed and verifiable online, via app, retailers, or hotline.
   

5. Idaho receives $185 million award to bolster rural health care infrastructure (ktvb.com) — From Boise officials are detailing a major boost to rural health care: the state will receive about $186 million in new federal funding starting in 2026. The money will support recruiting medical workers, shoring up rural hospitals, and expanding training so more physicians study and stay in Idaho’s communities.
