Sheriff Norris revokes cross-deputization of Cd'A, Rathdrum police chiefs (cdapress.com) — Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris has revoked countywide policing authority for Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White and two other top officers, raising questions about how local agencies can operate across the county. The move follows an investigation into Norris’ conduct at a February town hall held at Coeur d’Alene High School, and other officers’ cross-deputization status remains uncertain.

Idaho State Police trains K-9s to detect fentanyl odor (fox28spokane.com) — Idaho State Police announced in Coeur d'Alene that its nine drug-detection K-9s are now certified to sniff out fentanyl, adding to their existing lineup of illegal drug odors. Handlers say the highly trained dogs can learn a new scent in under a week, and they carry Narcan to help keep both officers and animals safe during drug investigations statewide.

Natural world inspires Coeur d'Alene watercolor artist (cdapress.com) — Local watercolor artist Jessica Bryant, based in Coeur d’Alene, is gaining national recognition after a sold-out solo show at Coeur d’Alene Galleries and selection as a guest artist for the 2026 Prix de West.
