The multi-year project will also rebuild nearby bridges and trails through 2029, prompting one resident to petition state officials after city leaders said they lack control over the design.

New trash policy stinks for some Coeur d'Alene residents (ktvb.com) — Coeur d’Alene residents on certain alley routes will lose alley trash pickup starting Jan. 1, forcing about 85 households to roll cans to the street instead. Republic Services says safety concerns about trucks backing onto streets and sidewalks prompted the change, but some longtime and elderly neighbors worry the new policy will make daily life harder, especially in winter conditions.
