- Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper and the City Council are partnering with the Community Food Basket - Idaho Falls to support those in need during the Fourth of July celebrations. Monetary donations and electronic contributions will be collected along the parade route, with the proceeds directly benefiting the food basket. Mayor Casper emphasized the importance of helping the community and encouraged everyone to participate in a way that reflects the generous spirit of the country. (Local 8 News)
- Joseph Wilcox, a 50-year-old man, has been sentenced to a minimum of two and a half years and a maximum of five years in prison after causing a crash in 2021 that resulted in injuries to two individuals. However, the judge suspended the sentence and placed Wilcox on three years of probation, with the condition of spending 30 days in jail and paying restitution to the victims. Wilcox had multiple prior DUI offenses and a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, which influenced the judge's decision. (East Idaho News)
- Here are three things to do this weekend in Idaho Falls; the iconic character Waldo from the children's book series will be visiting 25 local businesses, and participants can enter a grand-prize drawing by collecting stamps or signatures from at least 20 businesses. The Idaho Falls Chukars will also have home games this weekend, including a special Ammon Little League Day and Independence Day jersey nights. In nearby Blackfoot, the community can celebrate the Fourth of July at Jensen Grove Park with a car show, fair food, and snowmobile races, concluding with a fireworks display in the evening.
