Blackfoot man who owns Sage Raceway facing sexual battery charge (idahostatejournal.com) — An Idaho Falls raceway owner is facing a felony sexual battery charge involving a 17-year-old employee, with the alleged incident occurring while the teen worked at Sage Raceway in Idaho Falls. The Blackfoot man has been released on bond, and a preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 23 at the Bonneville County Courthouse in Idaho Falls.
   

2. Idaho Falls Fill the Ambulance drive brings in hundreds of toys (eastidahonews.com) — Idaho Falls firefighters say the Fill the Ambulance Toy Drive brought in enough toys to support Ronald McDonald House Charities families through 2026 and fulfill every child’s wish list at the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission. The city, local businesses, volunteers, and residents all pitched in, capping the effort with a Light Parade, Ugly Sweater Car Show, and even an Air Idaho Rescue flyover.
   

3. Stinking Springs and Egin areas seasonal winter closure provides protection and winter range for wildlife (idahostatejournal.com) — If you recreate near Idaho Falls, be aware that BLM has closed the Stinking Springs area to all motorized use and human entry through May 1 to protect wintering wildlife. The nearby Egin-Hamer area will also have staggered closures starting Jan. 1, so officials urge residents to check maps and call the Upper Snake Field Office before heading out.
   

4. Catharsis: Local metal band Godbone writes songs to let the darkness out (eastidahonews.com) — A Pocatello/Idaho Falls metal band, Godbone, is bringing its intense, cathartic sound to the Heart Events Center in Idaho Falls on Dec. 19, sharing the bill with several other heavy acts. Band members talk about blue-collar life, dark but honest lyrics, and why the local hardcore scene is one of the most welcoming places in eastern Idaho.
   

5. Skate Idaho donates 29 skateboards to local youth through holiday partnerships (idahostatejournal.com) — Kids in Idaho Falls and Pocatello are getting brand-new skateboards this Christmas thanks to Skate Idaho’s annual build day, which produced 29 complete boards. Partnering with Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and sponsors like ICCU and Cannon Skate Shop, the group focused on giving local youth confidence, community, and holiday joy through skateboarding.
