- If you're heading to the Liberty on Parade event today at 9:00 a.m., you'll also have the chance to donate to the Community Food Basket. Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper will be on hand with city officials and volunteers to collect monetary donations, and there will also be flyers with a Venmo code and list of "most needed items" for electronic donations. The parade will start near Idaho Falls High School before traveling down 4th Street. The parade will then head south on Boulevard to end at Tautphaus Park. (East Idaho News)
- An Idaho Falls High School graduate has earned the U.S Presidential Scholarship! Claire Yoo, who is attending Harvard in the fall, is one of 161 students in the United States to be awarded the scholarship based on her SAT scores. Yoo is planning to study integrative biology on a pre-med track and is hoping to find a career studying chronic pain. She says she loves Idaho but is looking forward to new experiences in a new environment! (East Idaho News)
- With all of the upcoming festivities and events, AAA is reminding Idaho families how to stay safe in large crowds. One tip offered is to take a picture of your family before venturing into theme parks or other crowded places. That way if a family member goes missing, you have a current photo of them in the exact outfit. Another tip is to pick a meeting place at the start of the day in the event of separation. See the full list of tips here. (Local News 8)
