Annual Shop with a Cop event provides some 100 kids with a Christmas shopping spree (lmtribune.com) — Lewiston families are benefiting from this year’s Shop with a Cop event, where about 100 kids from Lewiston and Clarkston received $100 Walmart gift cards and one-on-one help from officers. Started by a former Lewiston officer, the program turns a big police presence into a joyful holiday shopping spree with volunteers, costumes and plenty of wrapped gifts.
   

2. ISP K-9s Now Fully Certified to Detect Fentanyl Across Idaho (dailyfly.com) — Lewiston is the dateline for a major safety upgrade: all Idaho State Police K-9s are now certified to detect fentanyl, adding to their existing drug-detection skills. The nine-dog team, deployed statewide, will support troopers and partner agencies during traffic stops and investigations, with handlers also carrying Narcan to protect themselves and their dogs from accidental exposure.
   

3. Blast from the Past / 1968: Ready for their junior rodeo (lmtribune.com) — A vintage 1968 photo from the Lewiston Tribune shows Lewis-Clark Saddle Club royalty preparing for a junior rodeo in Clarkston, highlighting the region’s long rodeo tradition. Readers are invited to share their own historic regional photos by email or mail to the Tribune’s Lewiston address.
   

4. Idahoans may get the gift of $3 gasoline soon (eastidahonews.com) — Lewiston drivers are currently paying about $3.02 per gallon for regular gas, as Idaho’s average price edges closer to the $3 mark. AAA says increased fuel supplies and lower demand could push prices down further during the holiday travel season, even though Idaho remains among the more expensive states for gasoline.
