105-Degree Heat Index, Severe Storms Could Hit Illinois
Storms could hit after hot and muggy weather returns to the Chicago area on Wednesday.
ILLINOIS — After temperatures in the 80s, even hotter weather is likely to hit the Chicago area this week, with a heat index of up to 105 degrees Wednesday. But the steamy weather could also bring some storms with it.
The week starts off with a high of 89 degrees on Monday, and a high of 88 on Tuesday. A few morning storms are possible Tuesday.

On Wednesday, temperatures could spike into the mid-90s, with warm and muggy weather bringing the potential for afternoon and evening storms.
