21 Arrests Made, 4 Cops Injured During 'Outrageous' Protests At Ice Facility
The mayor is blaming out-of-town protestors for injuries to police officers during Friday morning protests in Broadview.

BROADVIEW, IL — At least 21 arrests were made Friday morning during protests around the facility being used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Broadview. In addition, two Village of Broadview police officers, one Illinois State Police officer and a Cook County Sheriff's deputy were injured by "out-of-town" protestors, according to Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson.
"I have repeatedly pleaded to protestors to raise their voices, not their fists. They have chosen their fists," Thompson said. "These out-of-towners have chosen to brutalize police officers who have been protecting their free speech and protecting them against assaults by ICE agents. We will see them in court."
Womp womp, cry all you want. These criminal illegal aliens aren’t getting released. Like clockwork, violent rioters have arrived at the Broadview ICE facility to demand the release of some of the worst human beings on planet earth. Get a job you imbecilic morons. pic.twitter.com/k4HdE5IqNu

Thompson, who called the violence "unacceptable and outrageous," said three of the officers were taken to Loyola hospital to treat their injuries.

"Unfortunately, as members of the Unified Command were allowing peaceful protest in Broadview this morning, approximately 50 protestors decided to exit the designated protest area and unlawfully enter the roadway," CCSO said. "As they were unlawfully assembling in the roadway, four officers sustained injuries while trying to redirect them back behind the jersey barriers."
