3 Shot In Bar, Teens Arrested In Bleacher Brawl: IL Weekend

ILLINOIS — As we head into a new week, Patch has rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend.

Three people were shot at a suburban bar this weekend — although police say the gunshots came from outside the business.

A bleacher brawl during a high school football game led to the arrest of two teens, and after an intermediate school student made a school violence threat, their parent was arrested, according to police.

3 People Shot In Bar

Officials believe the gunfire originated from outside the bar and the rounds entered the building, police said. No arrests were announced in the wake of the shooting, which sent three victims to the hospital.

2 Teens Arrested In Bleacher Brawl At Football Game

Fans were removed from the stadium after cheerleaders were attacked, the superintendent said. "Several of our cheerleaders were unfortunately attacked … At no time were any weapons involved, nor were there any major injuries, contrary to some reports on social media."

Parent Charged After Child Threatens Intermediate School: Cops

When police arrived at the student's home to investigate the threat, police said the parent refused to cooperate, so authorities obtained a search warrant. During the search, police said officers determined the threat was not viable, but found several unsecured guns and removed them from the home. The parent was taken into custody for a violation of the Firearms Child Protection Act.

Missing Teen Last seen Friday

The 17-year-old left was last seen leaving her home Friday afternoon without her cellphone, according to police.

Man Found Dead At I-294 Oasis, State Police Investigating

State police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a car at a highway oasis. He was identified as a 36-year-old Michigan man.

Suspect In Custody Following Stabbing

The condition of the person stabbed has not been released as of Monday morning.

Ex-Hotel Employee Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dog Fight: Cops

Police said the investigation goes back nearly a year after they say a former hotel employee, who once lived there but had been evicted, took another employee's German shepherd with him to conduct a drug deal. During the transaction, the shepherd and a pit bull fought, resulting in serious injuries to the German shepherd named Molly.

1 Critically Injured In Crash With Semi, Car

The driver of the car was extricated and taken from the scene in critical condition, fire officials said.

Bicyclist Dies After Crash With Jeep: Police

Police found the 54-year-old woman unconscious with a serious head injury after a collision with a Jeep Wrangler. She was taken to an area hospital, where she died.
