$552M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In IL For Jackpot Lottery Win

One Illinois Lottery player is a whole lot richer after Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing.

ILLINOIS — One Illinois Lottery player had a very lucky night Tuesday after a Mega Millions ticket sold in the state matched all six winning numbers for the $552 million jackpot.

The ticket marks the second jackpot victory of 2024, with the winning numbers — 19, 37, 40, 63, 69 and 17 — yielding the prize, which will come out to $260.2 million in cash, according to Mega Millions.

The last jackpot win was for $1.128 billion and went to a player in New Jersey on March 26.

The jackpot will now reset to its $20 million starting value for the next drawing at 11 p.m. Friday.

Mega Millions is the only lottery game that has produced six jackpot wins of over $1 billion, including a $1.337 billion win in Illinois in July 2022.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands for $2 each. The odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.575 million.
