ILLINOIS — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
Before we jump into the Chicago area's top stories, after weeks of sunny skies and dry conditions that have led to drought and fire risk, Illinois saw some showers late Saturday into Sunday morning, bringing much-needed and "beneficial but not drought-ending" rain.
After a sunny and warm Saturday, Sunday brought a steep temperature drop down into the 50s, but temperatures will climb back into the upper 60s and low 70s on Monday.

"High waves and dangerous currents will continue into Monday along southern Lake Michigan beaches," the National Weather Service warned. "Swimming is highly discouraged."
Isolated showers are possible Monday afternoon and evening, especially near the Wisconsin border, and Tuesday brings another chance for light rain.

By mid-week, temperatures will be back in the 80s in the Chicago area, the weather service said.

Police: Black Bear Spotted Again In Illinois
On Wednesday, authorities in Gurnee reported a black bear near Gurnee Mills, but it's unclear at this point if this is the same black bear. A video that has been making its rounds online shows the animal running through the parking lot of a Kinder Care.
Missing Manhattan Man's Body Pulled From Water: Coroner
The death is being investigated as possible foul play by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office and Grundy County Coroner's Office.
'Unabomber' Ted Kaczynski, 81, Dies In Prison: Report
Kaczynski, who grew up in Illinois, was serving life without parole following his 1996 arrest at his primitive cabin in Montana.
Deadly Recliner Fire: Woman, 77, Dies
An off-duty firefighter passing by the house saw the smoke and entered. He managed to get the woman's husband out of the house.
