Below Average Temps, Rain Stick Around For Week Ahead: IL Weather
Temperatures will stick in the low to mid-50s for much of the week and rain is possible later before the sun returns with warmer air coming.

CHICAGO — The new month may bring optimism that warmer and more pleasant days are coming, but the first week of May will bring much of the same below-average temperatures that the greater Chicago region saw to close out April.
The National Weather Service is predicting that the region will remain below the normal daytime highs of 65 degrees for much of the week. As has been the trend of late, area residents have a chance of rain showers to look forward to several times during the coming week before things may be finally moving toward a warm-up as the month progresses.
But that warmth will take its time in making its way to the region, forecasters predict.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-50s for much of the week and although the region won’t see many of the night-time lows and chances of frosts or freezes that some residents in the northern suburbs saw last week, conditions will remain on the cool side, forecasters predict.
After mostly cloudy skies usher in the new work week, rain showers are likely Monday night and into Tuesday, forecasters predict. Temperatures along the Lake Michigan shoreline will remain on the brisk side on Tuesday when showers are likely, and thunderstorms are possible.

Some peeks at the sun are possible again on Wednesday when temperatures may approach the upper 50s in some parts of the area, but showers move back into the area for Thursday and Friday when temperatures will remain in the 50s before the sun returns Saturday and Sunday when conditions will improve slightly and point to a gradual move to the 70s next week.
