Severe Storms, Heavy Rain Possible Thursday For Chicago Area

ILLINOIS — Storms will develop late Wednesday, with a possible severe storm threat west of Interstate 39 on Thursday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday will have a high of 78 degrees, and storms could develop late in the night as a warm front lifts into the area, the weather service said. Severe weather isn't expected with Wednesday night storms.

Thursday will be even warmer, with a high of 84 degrees, and strong to severe storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening. There is also a threat of locally heavy rainfall on Thursday night, which could bring flooding to some locations, according to the weather service.

Storm and shower chances continue on Friday and Saturday, and Friday will have a high of 73 degrees and Saturday a high of 75.
Sunday looks to be dry with a high of 71 degrees, according to the weather service forecast. The warm temperatures also look to continue into next week, as Monday has a high of 74 degrees.
