Cold, Rainy Start To Week Before Temperatures Near 70 Again In IL

ILLINOIS — It definitely feels more like fall this week, as temperatures in the 50s are expected through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.

"Periodic chances for showers will continue through Tuesday, especially for areas near Lake Michigan," the weather service said on its Facebook.

Early morning frost is possible mid-week as temperatures could drop below freezing, down to the 20s on Tuesday night and Wednesday night.

Monday will have a high of 58, Tuesday a high of 55, and Wednesday a high of 59, according to the current forecast.

Drier weather will then arrive mid-week, and looks to stay through the end of the week, the weather service said.

Temperatures will also warm up for the end of the week, with a high of 67 forecast for Thursday and a high of 69 on Friday.

According to the current forecast, the weekend looks dry and warmer with highs in the 70s.
