Cooler Than Normal Temperatures Persist Through The Weekend For IL

The weekend will be dry and sunny, but the cooler temps will stick around.

ILLINOIS — Cooler than normal conditions are expected to continue through the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be the chilliest day through the weekend, with only a high of 65 degrees. The weather service said dangerous swimming conditions are also expected through Friday afternoon for parts of northwest afternoon.

High waves and life-threatening currents will make any swimming dangerous at Porter County Lake Michigan beaches.

"Dry weather" is expected all weekend, and Saturday and Sunday both have a high of 70 degrees, according to the current forecast. Temperatures will be slightly warmer on Monday, with a high of 76.

By Wednesday, the high looks to be 80 degrees; with temperatures in the 70s expected for next week.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. West northwest wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Sunny, with a high near 68. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
