Big Weather Change Coming To Chicago Area: What To Expect

ILLINOIS — The Chicago area may see a small taste of fall with a period of cooler than average temperatures starting this weekend and into the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday and Friday will have a high of 81 degrees, and "a dry pattern will continue into the weekend," the weather service said on its Facebook. However, a few sprinkles and even a storm can't be ruled out on Friday night into Saturday, but most areas should stay dry.

The weather service said an isolated storm is possible after midnight Friday night across portions of northern Illinois, and then southeast of Interstate 55 on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday will have a high of 83 degrees.

Sunday will be even cooler with a high of 75 degrees, and Monday will have a high of 70 degrees, according to the current forecast. Temperatures look to stay in the 70s through Wednesday.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

SATURDAY: A 20 percent chance of sprinkles with a slight chance of showers before 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

SUNDAY: Sunny, with a high near 73.
