'Potentially Deadly' Swim Conditions, Rain, Cooler Temps Could Hit IL

There is a chance of rain Thursday night as a cold front moves through the area.

ILLINOIS — A cold front is set to move into the Chicago area, bringing a chance of rain and cooler temperatures to end the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday will have a high of 86, before a cooler Friday with a high of 74 is expected.

There is also a chance of rain and isolated, non-severe storms on Thursday night, according to the weather service.

Saturday will be even cooler with a high of 67, before temps start to warm again with a high of 75 on Sunday and a high of 81 on Monday.

The weather service said dangerous swim conditions are also expected at southern Lake Michigan beaches on both Friday and Saturday.

The potentially deadly conditions will develop late Thursday and last through Saturday night.

"Planning to head to the lake? Don't go in. Your life may depend on it," the weather service said on its Facebook page. There will be high waves, deadly rip currents and hazardous boating conditions.
