Dangerous Cold On Tuesday, Snow Chances Wednesday For Chicago Area

Cold conditions will continue into Wednesday morning, with wind chills potentially as low as minus 35 below zero.

ILLINOIS — Dangerous wind chills, as low as 35 below zero, are expected Tuesday for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service. The bitter cold will persist into Tuesday afternoon.

"Conditions will improve slightly later in the day, but wind chills don't look to rise above zero until during the day on Wednesday," the weather service said.

A cold weather advisory is in effect for the Chicago area until 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures will improve on Wednesday, which has morning wind chills as low as 20 below zero, but the high for the day is 26 degrees.

The weather service said the next chance for accumulating snow will come on Wednesday, especially Wednesday night. Snow up to an inch is possible.

Temperatures will continue to recover toward the weekend, with a high of 24 on Thursday and Friday.
