Dangerous Swimming, Colder Temps This Week For Chicago Area
The week will have mostly below-average temperatures before warmer conditions return for the end of the week and weekend.
ILLINOIS — A "quiet weather pattern" is expected through the week, as conditions remain dry all week with temperatures near 80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
For those who were thinking of heading to the beach for a late-summer outing, dangerous swimming conditions are expected at southern Lake Michigan beaches through Tuesday.
The weather service said gusty onshore winds are causing waves of 5 to 8 feet along the southern shore. Avoid the immediate lakeshore, including piers, breakwalls and portions of lakeshore trails.
