Murder Charge Filed In I-80 Road Rage Shooting Death

State police responded to a 911 call of a shooting on I-80 and found a 30-year-old man who had been shot to death after a road rage-related crash, officials said.

Police said the officer, 40, was fatally shot after responding to a report of an armed person leaving a bank. The person accused in the shooting was also shot and is hospitalized, police said.

Woman Charged With Reckless Homicide, Street Racing In Fatal Crash

Police alleged she was exceeding speeds of 100 mph in her Dodge Challenger when they say she lost control of the vehicle, which struck a curb, became airborne and collided with three cars stopped at a red light before rolling over multiple times. A 45-year-old man in one of the other vehicles was killed.

A witness told officers that the hit-and-run driver had gone into a home. A homeowner confronted the man, who fled again, prompting a search of the area, police said.
