Dry, Summer-Like Weather Continues Through The Week: IL Weather

ILLINOIS — The stretch of warm, dry weather will continue through the end of the work week, with highs close to 90 degrees expected all week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will have a high of 90, Tuesday a high of 89, Wednesday a high of 86, Thursday a high of 87 and Friday a high of 88.

The entire week ahead looks to be sunny, as a "high pressure overhead" causes the dry and summer-like weather.

The Chicago area, and most of Illinois, has seen little to no rain for the month of September. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the Chicago are is "abnormally dry" with a patch of "moderate drought."

An "abnormally dry" rating shows areas that may be going into or coming out of drought," according to the monitor website.

The monitor website states that 1.3 million Illinois residents are in areas of drought.
