Dry Weather Continues, Temps Near 80 Return This Week For IL

Monday will be the coolest day of the week.

ILLINOIS — Dry weather will continue through the work week and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

"While temperatures will start off cooler [Monday] and Tuesday, above normal temperatures are expected to return towards weeks end," the weather service said on its Facebook.

Monday will be the coolest day of the week, with a high of 69 degrees. Tuesday will have a high of 75, according to the current forecast.

Wednesday will have a high of 78, Thursday a high of 77 and Friday will be in the 80s with a high of 84.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday could be windy, with gusts as high as 15 mph on Tuesday, according to the weather service.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the Chicago area is "abnormally dry," with some areas marked as a "moderate drought." The current forecast does not show any rain this upcoming week, and the weekend looks to be dry as well.
