Fox River Grove Neighbor's Big Game Snack Recipe: Bacon Dates
Your neighbors are sharing their favorite game day recipes. Here is one for bacon dates.
Fox River Grove, Illinois — If you plan it right, the snacks at your football watch party on Feb. 11 will be as much discussed as the key plays. When we asked Fox River Grove readers to submit their MVP-worthy recipes, Mark Steven Zuelke submitted this recipe:
Bacon Dates
Buy a bag of pitted DATES
Buy a pound of some really good bacon
Wrap half a slice of bacon around each date, held in place with a tooth pick
Roast in a 375° oven until that bacon is the crispness you prefer.
DONE! No dipping sauce recommended, toothpicks are already in the bite-size bites, best tasting when warm or room temp but not cold.
