Hot Weather Continues, Severe Storms Possible Saturday For Illinois
A few storms could be strong to severe on Saturday afternoon and evening.
ILLINOIS — The hot stretch of weather will continue into the weekend for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a possibility of severe weather on Saturday night as a cold front moves in.
The high for both Friday and Saturday will be 95 degrees, with peak heat index values of 100.
There is a chance of storms on Friday, for areas north of Interstate 88, and another chance on Saturday, according to the weather service.

"A cold front with showers and thunderstorms will arrive Saturday evening, and usher in cooler temperatures to start next week," the weather service said on its Facebook.
A few storms could be strong to severe on Saturday afternoon and evening. There is a level 2 of 5 severe thunderstorm risk for Saturday, according to the current forecast.

The high for Sunday is 89, and the high for Monday is 90. Temperatures go back to the mid-90s on Tuesday. Peak heat index values on Tuesday could be above 100 degrees.
