IL Among Most Stressed-Out States In The Country: Ranking

The study considered several factors, including the length of the average work week and typical commute time in each state.

ILLINOIS — Illinois is among the country’s most stressed-out states, according to a recent ranking.

The study gave each state a score out of 100 based on average weekly work hours, typical driving commute time, average traffic volume, if workers commuted alone and household income inequality. It was conducted by the editorial team at the cannabis brand Pacific Stone.

The Prairie State ranked sixth, with a score of 70.97, an average work week of 41.3 hours and an average commute time of 28.4 minutes, according to the study.

New York was named the most stressed state, scoring 90, followed by Massachusetts at 84, California at 79.2, New Jersey at 77.3 and Marland at 74.7, the ranking said.

Behind Illinois in seventh place was Florida, with a score of 65.4, according to the study.

Alaska was ranked the least stressed state, scoring 16.8.

New York had the longest commute time, at 33.2 minutes, according to the study, while South Dakota’s was the shortest, at 17.4 minutes. With 44.3 hours, Louisana’s work week was the longest, and Alaska’s was the shortest, at 27.7 hours.
