Best IL School Districts To Teach In, Average Salaries

The top 10 districts in the Land of Lincoln pay teachers at least $93,000 per year with multiple schools' salaries topping $100,000.

ILLINOIS — Public school teachers in Michigan can make vastly different salaries, depending on which school district they work for.

While three Illinois district ranks as the nation’s best for teachers, with the top two paying them in excess of $100,000 each year, the top 10 school districts in Illinois pay their teachers at least $93,000 per year, making the state one of the best in the nation for teacher salaries, according to data compiler Niche.

Niche ranked Glenbrook High School District 225 as the best in the country for teachers. The district pays its teachers an average of $103,465 per year, which ranked just ahead of New Trier Township High School District 203, which came in as the nation’s second-best place to teach. Teachers there make slightly more with an average salary of $110,628.

Adlai Stevenson in Lincolnshire ranked third on the list with teachers drawing an annual salary of $93,403, according to Niche.
