ILLINOIS — Seasonable temperatures in the upper 80s are forecasted this week, with some chances for localized rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will start the week with a high of 85, and a high swim risk at Lake Michigan beaches. The weather service said the high swim risk is at all southern Lake Michigan beaches (all of them in Indiana and Illinois) through Monday evening.

Tuesday will be slightly warmer with a high of 88 degrees, and the chances for rain and storms begin.

The weather service said there will be "occasional opportunities" for rainfall, with "perhaps the best shot for something more widespread at the end of the week."

Wednesday will have a high of 87, Thursday a high of 88 and Friday a high of 90, according to the weather service. Every day this week, besides Monday, features a chance of storms.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 83. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

TUESDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 10 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

WEDNESDAY: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light west wind becoming north northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
