Illinois Resident Strikes It Rich With $1M Lucky Day Lotto Online Win

ILLINOIS — A lucky Illinois resident became the state’s first lottery millionaire of the new year when they matched all five numbers in Monday night’s Lucky Day Lotto drawing, the Illinois Lottery announced on Wednesday.

The player, who purchased their ticket online, matched all five numbers which were 2-3-7-23 and 35.

The winner, who has not yet been identified publicly by lottery officials, is the ninth person in Illinois to win at least $1 million playing the Lucky Day Lotto game in the past 12 months, lottery officials said.

More than 39,500 winning tickets were sold for Monday night’s drawing and nearly $1.2 million in prizes.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize.
