This year, the 4th of July falls on Monday, and there are still plenty of parades, concerts and fireworks shows through the long weekend.
However, with the potential for storms and 70 mph winds, you should check with the town or organization hosting the fireworks before heading out to make sure the event isn't canceled.

- Where: Best viewing at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St., or Engstrom Park, 326 Millview Drive.
- Also: Food vendors open at 5 p.m., the Batavia Community Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. and the Sky Concert kicks off at dusk. Ahead of the event, the Batavia Fireworks Committee is asking for locals to donate money as the group is "several thousand dollars short" of delivering the show.
