Man Repeatedly Stabbed Estranged Wife: DeKalb Police
The woman was in critical condition and the man was charged with attempted murder, police said.

DeKALB, IL — A man is charged with attempted murder after he repeatedly stabbed his estranged wife in DeKalb, according to police.
Edgar S. Perkins, 44, surrendered to a Northern Illinois University police officer shortly after DeKalb police responded around 12:40 a.m. Saturday to the 800 block of Greenbrier Road, where they found a woman with multiple stab wounds to the torso and extremities, authorities said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and then flown to a hospital in Rockford, according to police, who said that as of Monday she was in critical but stable condition and expected to recover.

Perkins had been married to the woman but they had been separated for an extended period, according to police. He was brought to the DeKalb County Jail and charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, police said.
