McDonald's Returns To The 80s, Reintroduces Cheese Danish To Menu
The 390-calorie sweet treat will be added to the restaurant's McCafe bakery menu next week but it will only be available for a limited time.

ILLINOIS — More than 40 years after McDonald’s introduced a breakfast treat to its customers for the first time, the fast-food giant is bringing back its cheese Danish back to its menu, but only for a limited time.
While the flaky, cream cheese-filled, 390-calorie flavor bomb may not have the cult following of the McRib sandwich, McDonald’s announced the cheese Danish will be added to its McCafe bakery menu beginning Sept. 14.
The Danish, which includes a light vanilla glaze and streusel topping, is part of a fresh take menu that will be launched nationwide beginning next week. Other McCafe bakery new additions include a cinnamon roll, apple fritter, and blueberry muffin.

The restaurant did not indicate how long the menu items will be available and said the cheese Danish is being offered up as an opportunity for customers to change up their seasonal routines which in the fall means plenty of pumpkin spice and pecan and maple flavors, according to a news release.
In the release, McDonald's launched the question of whether the cheese Danish could be the new MVP treat of the season, suggesting the flaky breakfast treat pairs well with coffee or another one of the fast food chain's caffeinated beverages.
