Mild, Rainy Weather Expected Through The Weekend For Chicago Area

Fog is also expected through Thursday morning, with some areas of locally dense fog.

ILLINOIS — Areas of dense fog will continue through Thursday morning, especially around and north of Interstate 88, according to the National Weather Service.

Those who encounter lower visibilities while driving should slow down and leave plenty of distance between yourself and vehicles ahead of you, the weather service said. Fog conditions will improve from south to north on Thursday afternoon.


Mild temperatures are also set to continue through the end of the week and the weekend. The high for Thursday is 49, 51 on Friday, 54 on Saturday, 49 on Sunday and 49 on Monday.

With the warmer temperatures also comes chances for rain, with a chance of a drizzle Thursday afternoon and night; and periods of rain expected on Friday and Friday night.

"There will be another chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday," the weather service said.

According to the current forecast, the upcoming holidays next week look fairly mild as well, with a high of 42 on New Year's Eve and a high of 33 on New Year's Day.
