Despite dangerous swim conditions, will it be a perfect weekend for grilling and soaking up the last of summer?

ILLINOIS — The unofficial end of summer is here, with Labor Day falling on Monday, Sept. 1. The holiday weekend will bring "mild temperatures," according to the National Weather Service.

Large waves and strong currents developed on beaches on Thursday afternoon, and dangerous swimming conditions will continue through Friday.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler on Friday, with a high of 74 expected, according to the weather service. Temps in the 70s are also expected through Monday, and it should be sunny and dry all holiday weekend.
