Milder Temps For The Weekend, Chance Of Showers: IL Weather

Sunday could hit 70 degrees as milder temperatures are expected this weekend.

ILLINOIS — Milder temperatures will make a return for the weekend, with highs up to 71 expected on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weekend will be dry, although onshore winds will keep temperatures near Lake Michigan much cooler.

"Most locations will be dry, through some showers are possible on Sunday and again Monday morning," the weather service said.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m. Sunday, and a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m. on Monday, according to the current forecast.


Friday will have a high of 55, Saturday a high of 62 and Sunday a high of 71.

A cold front will bring a cooldown to the area early next week, the weather service said. Monday will have a high of 65, but Tuesday will be cooler with a high of 56.

Temperatures don't seem to stay down for too long; as a high of 60 is expected Wednesday and a high of 64 on Thursday, according to the current forecast.
