Monday Storms May Bring Flooding To IL, Cooler Temps Expected Tuesday

There will also be a chance of rain and storms at the end of the week.

ILLINOIS — After a very warm Sunday, temperatures are still expected to be warm for the start of the week on Monday before storms develop Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said storms will develop Monday afternoon and continue through evening, and could produce gusty winds and torrential rain. Repeated storms over the same area may lead to localized flooding.

Temps will be cooler on Tuesday after the storms, with a high of 68 expected, according to the weather service. Temperatures will rebound mid-week, with a high of 72 on Wednesday, 75 on Thursday and 74 on Friday.

There is also a chance of showers on Tuesday, while Wednesday should be dry and sunny, according to the weather service. Thursday and Friday will also see more chances of rain and storms.
